How Edviseo collects, uses, and protects your information.

Summary: We only collect what’s needed to run Edviseo, improve learning outcomes, and keep accounts secure. You control your data and can request access or deletion anytime at support@edviseo.com.

Who we are

Edviseo is an AI-powered study companion and institute platform used by students, parents, teachers, and institutes. For questions or requests about this policy, contact: support@edviseo.com.

“We”, “our”, or “us” in this policy refers to Edviseo.

Information we collect

  • Account & Profile: name, email, role (/app/education/student/parent/teacher/institute/admin), avatar, language, institute mapping, class/section.
  • Learning & Content: quizzes, notes, tests, results, feedback, eLibrary opens, announcements, homework uploads, and OCR/Homework Helper submissions (images/PDF/text you choose to scan or analyze).
  • Fees & Admin Data: invoices, due dates, payment status/amounts (processed via third-party gateways; we don’t store full card data).
  • Communications: support messages; optional notifications via email, web-push (OneSignal), and SMS/WhatsApp (e.g., Twilio or Meta WhatsApp Cloud API).
  • Device & Usage: IP address, browser/device type, timestamps, pages used, error logs (for security, anti-abuse, and reliability).

How we use your information

  • Provide the service: logins, role-based access, institute dashboards, tests & results, fees, announcements, OCR/homework help.
  • Improve learning: personalize practice, track progress, and surface insights/dashboards.
  • Communicate: send account alerts, announcements, reminders (email, push, WhatsApp/SMS if enabled).
  • Security: detect fraud/abuse, prevent spam, comply with legal obligations.
  • Support: respond to help requests and fix bugs.

Sharing & third-party providers

  • Hosting & infra: secure cloud hosting, CDN, email delivery.
  • Notifications: OneSignal for web push; optional WhatsApp/SMS via providers such as Twilio or Meta WhatsApp Cloud API.
  • Payments: third-party payment processors (we do not store full card numbers).
  • Analytics & error logging: to improve reliability and UX.

We require service providers to process data under confidentiality and security obligations. We don’t sell personal data.

Cookies & tracking

  • Essential cookies: login sessions, CSRF protection, language preference.
  • Functional/analytics: usage patterns (aggregate) to improve features and performance.
You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break login or dashboards.

OCR & Homework Helper

When you upload content for OCR or Homework Helper, we process the file to extract text and generate assistance. Uploaded files and results are tied to your account and institute (if applicable) for review and learning history.

  • Only upload material you have the right to use.
  • You may delete your uploads from your account where available, or request deletion via support.

Students, Parents, Teachers & Institutes

  • Students: learning data belongs to your account and/or your institute per your enrollment.
  • Parents: may be linked to a student account by the institute and receive updates (attendance, fees, results, announcements).
  • Teachers & Institutes: can see only the data they are authorized for (role-based access) within their institute.

Institute administrators may configure retention, exports, and role permissions for their organization.

Retention

  • Account & learning data: kept while your account or institute remains active.
  • Logs & device data: typically up to 12 months, unless needed longer for security or legal reasons.
  • Billing records: kept per applicable accounting/tax requirements.
  • Backups: retained for disaster recovery for a limited rolling period.

Your rights

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data (subject to legal/institutional requirements).
  • Export your data where technically feasible.
  • Opt in/out of optional notifications (web-push, WhatsApp/SMS).
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, or withdraw consent for consent-based features.
To exercise your rights, email support@edviseo.com. Institute-managed accounts may require coordination with your institute.

Children’s privacy

Edviseo is used by schools/coaching centers and may involve minors under supervision of their institute and/or parents. If you believe a child used Edviseo without appropriate consent, contact us and we’ll take prompt action.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures: encrypted transport (HTTPS), role-based access, audit logs, and least-privilege infrastructure.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continuously improve our safeguards.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data in other countries. We use providers with appropriate safeguards and only for the purposes described here.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect product, legal, or security changes. We’ll notify you in-app or via email where appropriate. Continued use of Edviseo means you accept the updated policy.
